ABOUT CORY

Cory C. Childs (Sun Gemini, Rising Scorpio, Moon Aries) is a composer, poet, writer, and mythographer based in the United States. They began their first foray into music by leading progressive rock bands, which eventually gave way to pursuing more formal training in classical composition and western music theory, most especially finding interest in the experimental freedom of post-tonalism and the prescriptive-defying practices of world music. They're trained in composing for every instrument of the orchestra, but personally excel as a baritone, electric bassist, pianist, and flautist.

An avid enthusiast of the Ancient Greek language and all things Orpheus, they also specialize in gleaning the underlying symbolic structures of our earliest cosmogonic myths that arguably acted as the foundations for what we now call esotericism and the occult. In addition to their work with The Shining Lyre, they're actively developing systems of esoteric exegesis, or text analysis, and cosmogonic composition, or system creation.

Their most passionate pursuit is that of using mythology and the arts to empower everyone to realize their own purpose in maintaining the harmony of the cosmos and become culture-edifying creators themselves. They also pretend to be bothered by their only occasionally obnoxious cats.

ABOUT ASTER

Aster Grim (Sun Libra, Rising Gemini, Moon Virgo) is an abstract and visual artist, writer, and magical practitioner based in the United States.  Their fascination with the visual medium began early in childhood, being particularly enchanted by the flowing forms expressed by nature itself, whether reflecting on the outwardly spiraling structure of trees or creating meaningful patterns in the shapes of clouds.  At the same time, the seeds of what would blossom into a rich magical practice were planted by all manner of fairy tales, folklore, and the storytelling traditions of cultures around the world.  Their ability to connect with others was developed further still by pursuing a formal education in theories of communication.

With a focus on the traditions and values of Norse and Celitc mythology, they've synthesized a vibrant and efficacious personal practice built on arduously maintained divine relationships.  Their practice has grown to include, among many things, a system of color magic resulting from rigorous scholarly study and the crafting of consecrated organic brushes and inks from simple natural materials.

Their most passionate pursuit is that of providing mentorship and inspiration to those who may be lacking or lost and encouraging them to use and develop their inner artistic gifts.  They also love to cuddle with their three adorable cats.
